The Morris BPA chapter is less than 48 hours away from being in hot, sunny, Orlando for the BPA National Leadership Conference!! We will have 24 members competing in events such as Global Marketing, Human Resource Management, and Financial Analysis. In addition, 20 of our members will be receiving the Ambassador Torch Award, the highest honor in the Torch Awards Service Program. In addition, we will be campaigning for two of our state officers, Rowena Zhang and Claire Schiller, as they try to attain the honor of national office. Along with all the convention “stuff,” we will be spending time in the pool, getting a nice tan, and visiting that rather “mousy” character with the red trunks and bow tie. 55 BPA members have advanced from the Region Competition to go to the State Conference at the Hyatt Regency in Minneapolis. State is always a lot of fun as it is a weekend in downtown Minneapolis where all the big time attractions are just a few minutes away. The chapter leaves on Wednesday, March 6 at 12:30 P.M., and will return on Saturday, March 9. All of our 34 Torch members also advanced! All you blog followers out there, remember to stay classy.

Hello everybody!

This is the very first post from the Morris BPA blog. It comes at a very harrowing time for our 80 members, as regional competition is only 6 days away. On Friday morning at 5:30 AM, these members will board a bus for Alexandria to compete in competitions ranging from Human Resource management to Interview Skills to PC Servicing and Troubleshooting. I am working on my portfolio for Advanced Interview skills. It is such a busy time with so much going on, but it is so great to be competing against friends and classmates.
